The Armed Forces Covenant
Swansea Airport Stakeholders' Alliance has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging support for serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and military families. Chaired by Bob Oliver MBE, the Alliance has committed to actions across employment, education, engagement and communications - including guaranteed interviews for veterans, cadet work experience, expanded STEM and schools outreach, and backing for events like Armed Forces Day and Remembrance activities.
On 6 July 2026, Swansea Airport Stakeholders' Alliance signed the Armed Forces Covenant, committing to support the Armed Forces community - serving personnel (regular and reserve), veterans, cadets, and military families - in recognition of their contribution to the organisation, the community, and the country.
The signing was made on behalf of the Alliance by our Chairman, Bob Oliver MBE. The Covenant itself is a national pledge between the UK Government, the public, and the Armed Forces community, ensuring that those who serve or have served face no disadvantage in accessing public and commercial services, with special consideration for the injured and bereaved.
In signing, the Alliance has pledged action across several areas. On employment, it will offer work placements, internships, and guaranteed interviews to veterans, plus work experience and mentoring for cadets. On engagement, it will grow its youth and schools programmes to promote STEM and aerospace career pathways, and support local Armed Forces charities. On communications, it will promote the Covenant to staff and the public, use Covenant branding, support events like Armed Forces Day and Remembrance activities, and appoint an Armed Forces Champion. It also commits to training opportunities for service leavers and their families, and to organising remembrance and ceremonial activities.
